How we collect, use, and protect your data

1. Introduction

Enjoycleaningup ("we", "us", "our", or "Company") operates the enjoycleaningup.com website (the "Service").

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

2. Information Collection and Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

2.1 Types of Data Collected

  • Personal Data: While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). This may include, but is not limited to:
    • Email address
    • First name and last name
    • Phone number
    • Address, State, Province, ZIP/Postal code, City
    • Cookies and Usage Data
  • Usage Data: We may also collect information how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other diagnostic data.

2.2 Use of Data

Enjoycleaningup uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service
  • To notify you about changes to our Service
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so
  • To provide customer support
  • To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service
  • To monitor the usage of our Service
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues

3. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

4. Cookies

We only place non-essential cookies after you have given consent in the cookie banner. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time using the button below. Your choice is stored in your browser for this website only.

4.1 Necessary cookies (always active)

  • Cookie preference (local storage, ecu_cookie_consent): remembers the choice you made in the cookie banner.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: spam protection on our contact form. Only loaded on pages with a form.
  • Payment session (session storage): remembers your donation while you are redirected to Mollie, our payment provider. Cleared when you return.

4.2 Analytical cookies (opt-in)

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) to understand how visitors use our website: which pages are visited, how long, and from which region. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage. Cookies used: _ga and _ga_* (retention up to 2 years). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

4.3 Marketing cookies (opt-in)

With your consent we also let Google Analytics share conversion data (a completed donation or booking request) with Google Ads, so we can measure whether our advertising campaigns work. We do not use this data to build advertising profiles of individual visitors.

5. Contact Forms

When you submit a contact form on our Service, we collect the information you provide (name, email, subject, message) to respond to your inquiry. This information is stored securely and used only for the purposes you provided it. We may use your email address to send you service-related announcements or customer support messages.

6. Your Account and the Enjoycleaningup App

You can create an account on our website or in the Enjoycleaningup app for iPhone and Android. The same account works in both. The app does not show advertising and does not sell or share your data with advertisers.

6.1 What we store

  • Account: your email address (to send login codes) and, if you add them, a nickname, first name and place of residence. There are no passwords.
  • Your cleanups: what you register (number of pieces, deposit items, weight, categories, an optional note and photo), the date and time, and which project it belongs to. Walks also store their duration and distance.
  • Location: the app only uses your location while it is open, never in the background. We store an area of about 0.1 km² where you picked up litter and, if you set one, a home area of about 5 km², never your exact position. Your full walking route is only stored if you switch this on in the app's settings.
  • Photos: photos of your dog and of litter you collected, only when you choose to add them. The camera is also used to scan the QR code of a group walk.
  • Dogs, groups and games: your dogs (real or virtual) and their profiles, the groups and group walks you create or join, who invited you to the app, and your game progress.
  • Devices: the name of each device you are logged in on, and a push token if you allow notifications.

6.2 What others can see

Your nickname and totals can appear in neighbourhood rankings. Dog profiles are public at enjoycleaningup.com/honden unless you make them private. Members of a group see each other's nickname. Your email address is never shown to anyone.

6.3 Services we use

  • Our own server in the Netherlands stores all of the data above.
  • Expo (650 Industries, United States) and Apple / Google deliver push notifications. They receive only the push token and the text of the notification.
  • PDOK (Dutch government) and OpenStreetMap Nominatim turn an area into a place name. They receive the centre of the area, never your exact position or your account.
  • Apple Maps (iPhone) and Google Maps (Android) show the map in the app.

7. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account yourself at any time: in the app go to Ik and choose Account verwijderen, or on the website go to Mijn account > Instellingen. You can also email info@enjoycleaningup.com from the address you use to log in, and we will delete it within 30 days.

Deleting removes your email address, name, place, home area, settings, dog profiles, walking routes, notes, photos linked to your cleanups, devices and push tokens. The amounts of litter you collected stay in the public totals without any link to you, because they belong to the neighbourhood's impact.

8. Third-Party Websites

Our Service may contain links to third-party sites that are not operated by us. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "effective date" at the top of this Privacy Policy.
